Edit Projects and Finalize Work Plan
Objective: Gain an understanding of how to review, verify and adjust projects; and complete the plan.
Once Treatments have been added to a Phase, the Phase can be updated with more information. From the top of the Project panel, navigate to the Phase of interest. This is where the user can assign the funding amounts for the Phase to the Funding Sources defined in the Setting Configuration section. The user can assign funding using a percentage split and funding value, and can balance the funding assigned between Funding Sources. Users can also assign a contingency cost if applicable.
Once all Projects and Phases have been created, the users can now see insights on their program of work. Navigate to “Insights” via the top ribbon.
In the “Board” tab, the user can see all the phases displayed as individual tiles in their corresponding year along with the proposed and actual cost across the planning time frame. The user can drag and drop individual phases to match funding requirements.
Clicking each phase will open the Projects panel on the right-hand side and reveal more information on the Phase.
In situations where a large number of projects are created, filters on the top of the interface can be used to help the user find projects and phases of interest.
Export Work Plan Reports
In the “Grid” tab, the user can see all the phases as individual line items. The “Grid Config” button can be used to configure which columns to display and export. Note the “Grid Config” settings will apply to all three “Board”, “Grid” and “Map” tabs when exporting.
Click the “Export” button, this action displays the Export pop-up.
To export Work Plan data, choose the desired report type and file type and click “Save”
The following section provides more detail on the available report types and formats.
Report Type
Choose the desired report export type:
- Phase Grid – exporting Work Plan at Project Level including phases, status, priority, owner, start date and end date, project's phase total budget and cost.
- Phase Grid with Treatment Details – exporting Work Plan at Treatment Level including treatments, relevant project's detail (phases, status, priority, owner, start date and end date), treatment cost (allocated and original), treatment name, treatment variation, data source, asset ID. The report also includes additional asset information that is mapped to the model during the data import in the predictor modelling phase.
- Predictor Simulation Force Rules – for each asset type, exporting all predicted treatments, treatment costs and asset ID where planned year and treatment is different from the input simulation. Users can import the original simulation as "Forced Rule" treatments. This action will allow the user to evaluate the effect of the forced rules on the simulation.
- Funding Allocation – exporting Work Plan's annual funding allocation including total available and proposed funding per funding source within the given plan's timeframe
File Type
Choose the desired report file type:
- Excel – all work plan reports can export as Excel
- CSV – all work plan reports except "Predictor Simulation Force Rules" can export as CSV
- Power BI – "Phase Grid" and "Phase Grid with Treatment Details" can also export with coordinates so that Power BI can consume it
- Shapefile – "Phase Grid" and "Phase Grid with Treatment Details" can also export as Shapefile
- GeoJSON – "Phase Grid" and "Phase Grid with Treatment Details" can also export as GeoJSON
